‘Hypoallergenic’ is a common label in skincare, especially for sensitive skin. But it doesn’t always mean the same thing across brands.
What it usually means
Typically, it suggests the product is formulated to reduce the chance of allergic reactions. Many brands use it to indicate fewer common irritants.
What it doesn’t guarantee
It doesn’t guarantee you won’t react. Everyone’s skin is different, and you can still be sensitive to specific ingredients.
How to shop smarter
1) Check for fragrance and essential oils if you’re reactive 2) Look for short, simple ingredient lists 3) Patch test before full use
Next step
If you want, share a product you’re considering and your sensitivity triggers (fragrance, acids, etc.), and I’ll help you evaluate it.
